Barbara -

Is this going to be a "Big Fat Greek Conference"? If so, sounds
interesting!

My latest issue of the wonderful Greek ceramic magazine call Keramieiki
Techni just arrived. The publisher/editor is Kostos Tarkassis. The
magazine is in English and there are 3 issues a year for $36 (includes
airmail postage). Kostos will be at NCECA this year in the
Exhibitors/Mfg room at booth 329 if you would like to take a look at the
magazine.
A couple of months ago someone sent in a request for information about a
ceramic conference held in Greece last summer. The conference was the
meeting of the International Academy of Ceramics the last week of
August, first week of Sept. The IAC meets every 2 years in a different
country. 2002 was Greece. Kostos Tarkassis was the conference organizer
The conference consisted of 4 days in Athens with many panel
discussions, slide shows, visits to museums and galleries featuring
ceramics followed by 4 days on a ship visiting 4 Greek islands to see
potters and pottery. This was followed by an optional 5 day tour of
Greece. The conference was written up by Jack Troy in this latest issue
of Kerameiki Techni. If you look at picture 20 in the article sitting
on the right hand side is a blond woman dressed in black and there I am.
I'm not a member of IAC but have been attending meetings as a guest
since 1988 in Sydney, Australia because you get to see the ceramics of
the country and meet the potters like you never could on a pottery tour
or visit on your own.
