Dear Marek Drzazga-Donaldson,
As I recall the original instructions I had from Bob Mason at =
Silksworth, (thinking back a few decades), one of the things he =
emphasised was to take care not to incorporate air back into the clay =
during the kneading phase of preparation. If this happened then you had =
to wedge the clay up again to expel the air.
One thing I have noticed over the years when spiral wedging is that air, =
should any have been left in after wedging, is expelled almost =
explosively when pockets work to the surface and pressure is applied.
