"SMASH! MAKE FLAT!"

Rob -
This works very well for pots that don't quite meet your
expectations too.
Best wishes -

This little exchange reminded me of an ongoing project -- over the
holidays I cleaned out the "Outer Darkness" (where there is
weeping and gnashing of teeth and lots of really bad pots -- a crawl
space that is connected to my studio). I cleared a spot in the
basement where there is an exposed cinderblock wall, built walls
with boxes, and had a grand time heaving all the dreadful dreck,
dating back to when I first got my kiln, against the wall. SMASH!

Then I worked on the "make flat" part -- using tile nippers to
salvage nice bits that might make good mosaic tiles. There were
some very lovely bits, along with an amazing amount of really
yucky or otherwise unusable stuff.

So now I come to the "what do I do with all this mosaic tile"
moment. I've got a book, and I'm mulling over some projects
related to a new bathroom we are building. I'd love to correspond
with one or two people who have done mosaic and would be willing
to answer questions as I go along. Anyone out there?
