Aloha all you Hawaiian potters, and those that have been there,
We're going to be on Kauai for a week and then on Hawaii for 2 weeks,
and it just occurred to me that I'd love to check out pottery related
stuff, galleries, potteries, studios, etc., that anyone knows about.
Any suggestions you have will be appreciated.
Let me know and I'll post a report when I get back mid Feb.

One the Big Island of Hawaii, I wouldn't miss the Volcano Art Center, The
Waipio Valley Artworks,The Holualoa Gallery, the Riftzone Gallery in Kona on
Alii Drive, the King's Shops at Waikoloa (down by the hotels), or the
Gallery of Great Things in Waimea. Behind the Gallery of great things a
couple of shops down is a shop of ceramics mostly imported from Japan,
wonderful tea sets etc.... don't miss it. I am only familiar with the
galleries, but Rick Joiner of Riftzone Pottery has his Studio number in the
phonebook, maybe he does studio tours, I don't know. There are no potters
associations or other things that bring the ceramics community together her
and I don't get out much. I'd say come visit my studio, but it's not in use
because of illness. I 'd have to say you can visit where my studio is lying
dormant... THAT I can do! It's in a lovely area of Paauilo on the Hamakua
Coast. I just put in an order today for clay for the first time in ages.
Still not comfortable with getting back to business. I hope you have a
lovely vacation.
