i use a large drill motor with a sheet rock mud mixer
attached. mixes like a dream.
and, of course you can sift anything.
as you make it, you add water, strain, dump into the big
bucket.
i have three different mixers that are used with
different drill motors. 1/4 3/8 and 1/2
each for the size i need.
(of course have the small paint mixers for the battery op
drill.)
no one said david, that every bucket is full, all the time.
you can have a quarter filled 50 gallon drum and it is
a shallow pan. just have to have longer arms...and i
don' t get the splashy mess.
lots of ways to skin the horse.
to each is own. the only thing that counts are the pots
that come from the kiln. some like to use a no.8 water color
brush and fill a 20 inch platter with glaze. to each his own.
takes two weeks to get it done, but they are happy.
takes me thirty seconds. then i am happy. and i am the
only one that counts in my studio.
of course i like to buy and use volume. i don't buy feldspar
in one pound bags.
