PS - Had to replace the footpedal on my 25 year old
brent 'c'. It got to the point where it wouldn't stop
going 'round anymore. It's so old though, that I
needed to....
Before you toss the Brent foot pedal, try to adjust it. One of the new wheels at school had the same problem out of the crate and was fixed with a simple adjustment. Take it apart and the solution may be obvious. I did the adjustment a few years and don't rember what was done but need to do the same thing on abother model c. One other scare with a pedal happened when I left my wheel outside at the Dallas zoo when doing a 2 day demonstration and the pedal got wet(dew or rain). It wouldn't work at all. No problem after it dried out. My vintage 1976 CXC hums along and has never had a problem. Then again, it has only had slight use by student "stompers".
I like your music list. It includes many of the records I have and never listen to because my turntable died. I think it is time to replace it and start burning CDs.
Silence only works for me in certain types of work, sound connects to the spirit of the activity with the energy needed for the task. The influence of sounds affects me like other enviornmental qualities of color, light, space, pattern, smell, and tactile exposure.
Until I get another turntable I will continue switching stations to everything offered but my favorites aren't found on any radio station. Included are Enviormental recordings of ponds at dusk, cows in thunder storms, Tibetan Monk music, Indian pow wow music and flutes, and anything else I can't can't get from radio.
