Hello Jon
Please go to
http://members4.clubphoto.com/ababi306910/894659/
Please look on the slides and explanations.
The last three slides are works I made with Laguna' English porcelain
1220C I believe ^ 7 or even ^8
I soak at the top 30 minutes and in 1055C about ^04 for 3 hours.
The I put the bowls on three little pieces of soft bricks. It looks like they where not
balanced and they warped.
Another piece I made with this porcelain, was exactly like the one on the 19th slide
and it collapsed.
My basic recipe, with nickel that I use for tests on different claybodies
ABABI'S CRYSTAL GLAZE N
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Cone 6 1222 deg.C. -

frit A 2120 45.00
zinc oxide calcined 23.00
silica 20.00
red clay calcined 10.00
Lithium Carbonate 2.00
Nickel Oxide 2.00
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Seger Weight%
KNO 0.362 13.28%
CaO 0.088 2.89%
MgO 0.005 0.11%
ZnO 0.497 23.66%
Li2O 0.048 0.83%
Al2O3 0.054 3.24%
SiO2 1.594 55.98%
K2O 0.009 0.49%
Na2O 0.353 12.79%
Al:Si 29.27
Expan. 10.47
ST 327.73

There might be a slight mistake with one materials, my supplier does not give me the
analysis of his red clay I use an analysis I got for a similar material.

glaze 11
Nickel Oxide 3.00
Titanium Dioxide 2.00
Red Iron Oxide 1.00

The blues are 0.5 cobalt and 3%
You can see how beautiful the bowls and the bottles made your porcelain.
On the other hands, plates, I made with
ABABI'S CRYSTAL GLAZE N
were bloating and the glaze boiled.
In the next crystal firing I will make a piece or too with this porcelain as paperclay.
Do you have any advise for me?
Will molochite improve the durability of this claybody?
Thanks
Ababi
