Yes, Virginia, you can read yourself stupid. Which is what I have been
doing of late here in the bookish depths of the basement of Baylor
University's library.

Been trollin' the Clayart Archives now for many moons. I pick a name and
start reading. Read almost everything David Hendley by now. (He's a
neighbor, ya know.) Mel the mayor too. Workin' on Lily, and Vince.
Many, many others. Still a surprise to read today's clayart issues
posted years ago. The same urgent questions; the same careful, honest
answers. Patient people they are. Been patient potters longer than
I've been in breeches, some of 'em I recon. And good too. Been wishing
for me that now were 20 years ago--20 more years over my belt--and I
were as skinny as a 1973 Hendley, arms full of jugs, 50+ years of
pottin' to go. Ain't gonna happen. Shame.

Not to worry though. Just feeling the down side of beauty and the
shitass till I realized that there must be 10 times 20 years of pottin'
right here in cyber jugtown. We gots to dig in, pull up a chair. Tuck
in, I say. Good eatin'.

Not a post for responding to. No need. Bouncin' back.

To paraphrase Strand,

glaze runs from the corners of my mouth,
I have been eating pottery...

So, eat, push back, and go throw some pots already.

Taylor, in Waco and what I want to know is did Mayor Mel ever send that
teapot to Clennell to put a handle on?
