Sam: Have you tried checking the temperature in various places in your kiln with standing cones? They are often not the same--can be too low. Be sure to sieve the glazes.. That takes some time but worth it. I fire to cone 6 and have some pretty nice results and get a good melt. Do you add bentonite as the catalog suggests?? Good luck!
