I'm not sure what got into me today...... perhaps waiting
for the kiln to cool & studio to cool down.
Anyway ... I have been perusing EBay looking up pottery,
kilns, extruders etc.
There are a lot more kilns than the one I mentioned in an
earlier posting.
Going through the list of items with the word "kiln" in it I
came across a sci-fi book called "Kiln People".

The description is:

"In a future world where citizens can create duplicates or "golems"
of themselves to do their dirty work for them, a detective seeks
to solve the disappearance of a executive in the Clay People business.
An epic scale novel with thrills, humor, and mystery."

I thought it amusing..... guess you had to be there!

I got a copy of Kiln People by David Brin for christmas. It is sci fi:
"In a future world where citizens can create duplicates or "golems" of
themselves to do their dirty work for them, a detective seeks to solve the
disappearance of a executive in the Clay People business. An epic scale
novel with thrills, humor, and mystery."

Gayle "thought it amusing..... guess you had to be there!"

I read it and enjoyed it, there are lots of clay puns, the writing and the
mystery are very good, some of the philosophical musings are interesting but
like lots of sci fi, this aspect gets out of hand at the end. I would be
happy to send the book to the first ClayArt requester when my wife is done
reading it.

Since this was written yesterday, I know I am too late to borrow the book.
However, I checked my city library (San Jose, CA, USA) and they have 2
copies at the main library. I've ordered one sent to my local branch so I
can check it out.

Thanx,
