Hi all

I can help solve the mystery of the origins of http://www.potters.org/
- a few years ago it was started up by one of the Clayarters, Alan
Ambrose, who asked a few of us to test drive it by checking what he had
done. He is a computer whizkid, and worked out a way to get the
computer to go through each day's messages, and put them into categories
according to what it perceived as the relevant word - not always in the
subject line as we all know (and love!). We guinea pigs thought it was
a good idea, so he made it work, and there it is, chuntering away all by
itself to this day. I'm not sure if he still checks in to Clayart, if
so - Hi Alan.

The subject listing is useful, and mostly I find it quite good to trawl
through, but it can be a bit strange at times if the topic is not really
clear, or in some way confusing to a machine. If someone sent in a
message that happened to mention a recipe for chicken soup with green
chillies (well, it could happen...) it would probably land in the glazes
section. Under green, of course.

But mostly it's good.
