I=B9m getting ready to buy a wheel, and I have noticed that Axner and Brent
have new lower priced wheels. Has anyone tried the Brent ie or the Axner
300?
I am accustomed to using the Brent B at the school, and my friend=B9s Brent C=
.
I=B9ve used a Shimpo, and that is the extent of my experience with wheels,
except for the kick wheels 30 years ago.
I usually throw 3-7 pounds. I am only going to get older and weaker, so I
can=B9t see the necessity for having a wheel that will center 50 pounds.
I=B9ve noticed some variations among the B=B9s. There are a few that seem to
act like a 4 liter engine and others that act like a 3 liter engine. I=B9m
comfortable with the ones that act like a 3 liter engine, if that tells you
anything.
Thanks for your help

Hello. I would not have said any thing about this, but I'm having problems
with my new Axner 900, and Axner has been ignoring my E-mails for 3 weeks.
I highly recomend that before you buy an Axner wheel you check the clayart
archives on the Axner wheels. There is some VERY informative reading. I
would be happy to discuss by my experience with the new Axner wheel with
you on list.

I welcome constructive criticism because that is how I learn, grow and
improve. When we get public criticism at Axner, I like to respond publicly,
so that people know that we are caring and responsible.
Yesterday, there was a post on Clay Art indicating a problem with an Axner
Pottery Wheel. The message stated that the problem was relayed to us by
e-mail and we had not responded. Upon looking into the situation I have
learned that our customer did send us an e-mail through our web site,
several times. We never received those e-mails, we were not aware that we
were having any trouble receiving e-mails, and after hearing about this
problem, we tried to re-produce it. Most of our attempts to e-mail
ourselves via our web-site were successful but we finally managed to
reproduce the problem and now we are having it corrected. There are,
however, many other ways of contacting us, including our regular e-mail
addresses, toll free telephone number and fax.
The problem with the wheel was simple and we fixed it.
If you ask me if we ever have problems or errors at Axner the answer is yes.
But we work damned hard to keep those to a minimum and I am proud of our
success in doing so. Equally important, if not more so, we correct our own
errors. I do not think that we would be able to grow our business if you
were not able to rely on that.
I responded to complaints on Clay Art twice last year and I appreciate your
indulgence in allowing me to do so again today.

I have not tried either of the new lower priced Brent or Axner wheels but have used
the Shimpo version and like it. I really like Shimpo's new foot controls as they
are really smooth and responsive and they too have started lowering their prices.
Try as many as you can,
