Dear Clayarters,
Besides the workshop with Ron Meyers next fall which Connie mentioned
(contact lmb@potteryweb.com), there are some others:
Architectural Ceramics May 23- Jun 6 with me (Marcia Selsor) see SUCAWS
Expressive Terra Cotta Jun 7 -Jun 21 with George McCauley, contact me
for these two workshops at m.selsor@attbi.com
Jeff Shapiro Jun 28-12 July contact Jeff directly at jeshapi@juno.com
Josh DeWeese Sept. 30-Oct 11 contact Josh@archiebray.org
La Meridiana is an international school of ceramics founded by Pietro
Maddalena over 20 years ago. The main building is a 12th century
restored farmhouse which houses the workshop studio, a gallery, another
studio, two apartments and the Maddelena home. Recently a dining room
and kitchen were added down the sloping hill towards the forest and the
frog pond. There is an amphitheater where classes hold discussions while
having coffee and tea breaks.
There is a quaint country bar/outdoor cafe about 2 km down the road
where the walk transcends one into a fairy land of fire flies and sweet
country smells. Congenial gatherings of workshop participants occur at
Bagnano, this country outdoor cafe.
Pietro and Giuliana have been hosting groups for 20 years. Giuliana is a
master masseuse for those with weary backs. She does wonders. She trains
in India. Also Christina is a treasure of a gourmet cook. She "cooks
from the heart" as she describes her passion. La Meridiana is truly a
wonderful place to go for a workshop. Due to uncertainties regarding the
US/Iraq situation registration for many of these workshops has been a
bit slow. Please visit the La Meridiana booth at NCECA if you are coming
to San Diego.Or contact Pietro (pietro@pietro.net) after NCECA to find
out more information.
Ciao!
Marcia
