Hi, Kat Valenzuela,
You recently posted a list of Ravenscrag glazes at ^6. I copied out =
three of them:
Kat's Matte
Glossy Base
High Magnesium Matte
Unfortunately, I lost the rest of the glazes. Could you post them =
again?
I did test one of them, the Glossy Base: Ravenscrag Slip 70% and Frit =
3134 30%.
You suggested 3% each of Cobalt Carbonate, Rutile, and Titanium for a =
"variegated medium blue."=20
The result was great: a soft blue, breaking green.
You also suggested 2% Copper Carbonate and 3% titanium for "a nice apple =
green" I thought for sure that you mistakenly left out the rutile, so I =
added it. The result was a very dull sort of pea green. I should have =
followed directions.
I think that Ravenscrag Slip is going to produce some really fine glazes =
very simply. If anyone is interested in the composition of the slip, I =
think that that is available via Digitalfire.
Thanks,
Charles Moore
