Michelle,
I think I have one.Very old kiln..like 30+ years old. Just call up
Paragon. They are very helpful. Mine has an extra wired ring that plugs
into the lower kiln control box.. I love it because I can vary the size.
The biggest problem I had with rewiring it was the old plug wire was the
multiple copper wires and the updated switches were for the solid copper
core wiring. NIGHTMARE but it is running and I love it. I just use it
occasionally. I have ITC 296 on the new coils and ITC 100 one the
bricks. Good little kiln. I have a big oval which I use more often.
I found the women at Paragon who answer the phone to be really
knowledgeable. Howard Arnold is also but he is not the first line of
communication. I really liked these ladies. AND they returned my calls
with instructions. I got my kiln from the newspaper for $75 with at
least that much worth in cones, stilts, shelves.
The sellers told me the first person who bought it said it didn't work
and brought it back. We both think that person forgot to push the on
button. Works like a charm.

Hi Clayart!
I've got a question for any "takers".....
Anybody have any info/specs on a Paragon A81B?
Perhaps it's old and that's why it's not listed on the Paragon website
......However, I'd like to know size, watts, amps, and max temp.
Anyone out there using a kiln like this?
Thanks for the info!
Sarah
P.S. Safe travels to all going to NCECA!

The Paragon A-81B specs:
120/240 v.
30 amps
7200 watts
40 amp breaker recommended
4-wire system
We still have manuals available for this kiln. I recommend that you read
the manual before having a circuit installed.
Sincerely,
Arnold Howard

kiln and part B is an extention but i will get all info on both sections I
believe she has both sections on a 50 amp breaker but i will check to be sure.

this year...
