I believe you are right Lily. Thats the beauty of
clayart and now we have learned something about
porcelain at all cones below ^10. I agree, ^04 is way
low for a porcelain. Getting it to move down 4 cones
is a chemical task but moving it on down lower than 9
cones would be a true feat! If any manufactuer is
saying their ^04 clay is porcelain I would have to
disagree with them at this point if thats the case.
I believe disucssing topics like this is good for
those who may just be beginning to use these products.
But they need to see/hear the experiences behind our
comments so they can conclude how we got there. They
are some really educated potters on our board, I would
go on to say we most likely have the top of the line
in our field right here on clayart in comparison to
where this information can be gleemed in other places.
So we need to remember we have the best there is and
those who are just beginning. Lets not scare them too
much all at one time. (Smile) I know a stupid question
is hard to reply to from a pro but that question has
tons of merit to the ones asking it. I honestly didn't
know myself they are manufactuers offering porcelain
at ^04. Never seen it before!
