Hi Carole!

What a great way to recycle old clay!

I made a temporary roof patch recently (we've been fairly wet this year, in
the desert), using scrap clay. It works well for this purpose, and
hopefully, will hold up until the owner of the property can call in the roof
repairman!

Best wishes!

I need to fill in a low area right up against the side of my house. (Because
of this low area, we have experienced some flooding in our basement.) I am
thinking this might be a good place to dump my terra sigilatta waste. Is
this a bad idea for some reason that I do not know about?

As long as we're on the subject of things you can do with clay (that are not
pottery related)...
This year, when the basement started to flood, I quickly constructed a
barrier of clay along the wall where the flooding was starting. The clay
damn held the water back from running into the rest of the basement (the
family room and my studio which was being worked on and all bags of
chemicals were on the floor!) Even with the mess to clean up, it saved us a
lot of work and damage.
