Friends,

I would like to share the following workshop announcement that I received
recently from John Jessiman in Appomatox Virginia. :

The Cub Creek Foundation is pleased to announce "Three Asian Points of
View", an international workshop featuring Takuro and Hitomi Shibata from
Shigaraki, Japan along with Suk-Jin Choi, a ceramic artist from Seoul,
Korea. The spring workshop will take place on Saturday, May 10th and
Sunday, May 11th. Through the duration of the weekend Takuro and Hitomi
will demonstrate the construction of large hand-built jars and thrown vessel
forms and will share their ideas concerning functional pottery. Suk-Jin
Choi will simultaneously be demonstrating the processes in which she
undertakes to create non-functional sculptural forms and will perform
traditional Korean techniques. Coffee will be provided each morning along
with lunch in the afternoons, and dinner on Saturday night. This is all
included for a weekend fee of $125. Everyone may bring 5-10 slides of their
work for a group slide presentation on Saturday night. We also encourage
all who attend to join in a pot latch. Each who wishes to participate may
bring a mug, small bowl, etc. Camping is available on the premises and
nearby accommodations accessible. Mark your calendars and call for more
information. (434) 248-5074.
