Hi,
This is my first post but I have been lurking for several years now -
lots of fantastic people and help.
This is for potters in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario ,Canada or anybody
else interested in coming. The Deep River Potters' Guild (the oldest
continuously operating pottery guild in Ontario) is hosting a weekend
workshop with Jason L'Abee on Saturday April 5 and Sunday the 6th. The
cost will be $50 Canadian and will include a slide show and critique
Friday evening, demonstration on Sat and Sunday. He will also talk about
his wonderful ash glazes and his spraying techniques. There will also be
a display of Jason's work at the Upper Ottawa Valley Craft Co-op that
weekend.
Jason is a graduate of the ceramics program at Georgian College in
Barrie, Ontario. He has worked in Ontario and western Canada, received
numerous awards and now operates his own studio in Waterloo, Ontario. He
is well know for his wonderful ash glazes that he fires in an electric
kiln - glazes to die for!
Deep River is half way between Ottawa and North Bay - about a 2 hour
drive from each.
