I at different times would like to put a coordinating color inside a 'vase'
and the particular color may have barium components or be in otherways not
food safe. Do other people do this? Can one always be assured that others
will view that vessel as a 'vase' or end up putting jelly in it or
something?. Up to now I have avoided doing any of this for fear of how
someone else may view the piece. Just to be safe I make it a practice not
to glaze an inside with something questionable but again some of these
colors would be aesthetically nice and complimentary for a vase. Just
wondering how others treat this issue.

Llewellyn,
Whenever I use a non-food safe glaze inside a vase
I write "Not food safe" on the bottom of the pot.
