david's black celadon

David's Black Celadon

Custer 45.3 %

Whiting 17.1

Zinc Oxide 2.2

EPK 10.6

Flint [silica] 22.8

+ 8 % Black Iron Oxide.

The original formular called for Red Iron Oxide, and
1/4 % bentonite, which I deleted.

This is a very beautiful and reliable glaze. Never runs, but will blister
if too thick.

What cone is this glaze 5 or 10? Looks like 10 but I wanted to be sure
before I test.

Thanks,

Hi Gail glossy, lovely finish. Look at www.berkeleypotters.com click on
my name, and look at my dinner plate. I use it often, and I believe it is
on other pieces as well. Nice meeting you at NCECA.
Best wishes, Rikki

Hello Rikki
Your way of painting with glaze amazes me. I might be the right person for it because
of the very many glazes I have. Some of the things we are not doing we do through
our students. Please enter to theselinks to see, first works of two girls 12 years old. I
wish they would be more free:

the Chanukah lamps in this page are more my kind of work
