After a wonderful NCECA, (great seeing everyone!) I am getting ready to host a five day participatory workshop with Michael Wisner of Snowmass Colorado (resident artist at Anderson Ranch). This workshop will be focusing on the Mata Ortiz style of pottery building- in a puki, with burnishing, polychrome decoration and blackware finishing techniques being explored. We still have a little bit of room in this workshop, the hours have been switched- The schedule is-
Wed-Sun March 26-30 9am-4pm. The studio is available in the evenings for continued working and we intend to do a clay-digging trip sometime during the workshop. Desert Dragon Pottery is located in north Phoenix on 2.5 acres, with nearby inexpensive hotels and restaurants. Participants are coming in from as far as Canada, Minnesota and California. $225 gets you a spot in the class, clay and other materials will be available for purchase during the workshop.
