Hey, I may have the opportunity to build a small wood-fired kiln. Are =
there plans for such on the net (yes, I'm doing a Google search), or =
does anyone have plans they would share?

Thanks.

Well now, there's the rub. A friend of mine bought a humongous kiln from
someone else, broke it down to bring home. She is going to build her own lp
gas kiln and I will get to have the leftover bricks. Don't know how many
bricks I will have, but should be enough to make a small kiln (I'm thinking
less than 50 cubes). The brick will be high fire for ^10. Thanks.

Hi L.P.,
When you say "small"....do you mean 115 cubic feet of pot space or less ?
Are you firing for ash ? What are the results you desire ?
How long do you want to fire, and with how much wood ?
My kiln is small as compared to an anagama...but you get lots of ash in 40
hours. It is basically a rectangle with a huge fire box that is about 2 feet
lower than the pots.....a rectangle....easy to get into and easy to load 12"
by 24" shelves.
How many bricks do you have and what kind are they ?
I can share my plans if Lowell says so : )
Or....maybe you should hire him to come lead the crew !

The stacking space in my kiln is .8 cubic meters. It will fire fast, or
long, depending on how you stoke.

Finished it today! Last bricks on the chimney and cut the door
bricks. Just waiting for the fiberblanket for on top of the arch to arrive.
