Bill so kindly shared his successful recipe for Chrome Tin Red, and sought examples of tests. I can't figure out if any of Ababi's analyses are of this particular glaze, but anyway. Can this glaze be reformulated without the wollastonite and the frit? Can colemanite and whiting somehow be used instead. I have a humpf of a time getting frits, and also can get no wollastonite, except from abroad. Nephsy is alright, though. Also, no Gersley B, only colemanite...

I have recently heard of Soda firing as opposed to salt firing. It's supposed to be better for the environment. Can someone explain the difference, as well as which soda that is used. I have long been interested in trying this, but have not because of the gases. Do they mean soda ash or what?

Please?

Theresa
