Lari makes a good point. We, on ClayArt, have a wonderful opportunity to get information from friends around the world on their views and feelings about this war. Our struggle, I believe, is to have a discussion and not break into warring factions ourselves. I don't think any of us want to turn ClayArt into a forum for political discussions only. (We already have "hate radio. " I need an excape from that.) This is our place for discussing the art of clay and fire. But, as Lari points out, how can we ignore what is on the front pages of every paper in the world? What is going on in the world affects our art, in one way or another -- whether we express our feelings in clay or whether we make decisions about what to produce based on the fact that we are in times of war. And expressing ourselves is what our art is about, right? So, I thank Lari and Vince for encouraging us to NOT bury our heads in the sand during these troubling times.
