CTR's I have made do better after setting for a week
or so. I always test as soon as I make them and again
when I fire about a week or two down the road. Neph.
Syenite is the culprit but I don't think changing to a
non soluble spar would be the answer. Very little
chromium involved and the rest is relatively inert as
for as toxins are concerned. Test the usual way if you
get the color you want. Its all part of the game of
clay and glaze. Since this changes from the original
source as I had hoped and planned this means more
testing and more ideas from others willing to do what
you are considering. Nail this thing down and make it
travel far and wide. Since I am thinking about it -
Tonight I loaded some CRT's in the kiln. I will be
taking a look at these tommorow so if anyone is
interested in this latest round of Chrome reds I can
supply a jpg once the wares have cooled down enough to
pluck out. My new turquoise is also in there with the
reds.
