It looks Bill that you entered to the room in the middle of the story;
The point was to take my best glaze that some people could not reproduce and
change some materials in order to let them try it. The page is:
http://members4.clubphoto.com/ababi306910/1190160/

So this is the whole story:
First I worked with Behrens's stony matte

Most of the green wares except the last three the egg shaped is this the glaze with
Earth and the next one has Pinnell 's weathered bronze.

I made a lot of tests kind of blends when I did not know how to use the volumetric
system!

The next step changing the barium to strontium, for me and to whiting for my
students: The final results of this glaze see here

The first slides
and here the whiting version results here

I started to manipulate:
What will happen if I will increase the strontium to 20 in order to get nice turquoise?
It turned ugly. I removed the zinc
I changed as much as I could to flour bearing materials and got
S4a
Please see it at the first page I gave you. I do not keep it anymore.
As blue was interesting as green was lovely with many black dots.

The book....

I tested it for dishwasher: most of the dots vanished.
I removed the Fluorspar and got

Please note: Like the Behrens glaze it is matte you cannot use it for food, but unlike
the first one it does not leach.
I have more glazes of this kind: The Fish of gad is from leftovers I give to my students,
I think they are more beautiful than the glaze I use
Sincerely
Ababi

By the way, The high CaO and the search for a substitution for Cryolite led to another
base, Wollastonite base which the main use would be for Tin Chrome glaze...
but this will be latter there are two other glazes I want to write about before.

>I noticed you last post Ababi about turquoise. I
