the one great thing about the oxyprobe
is that one can read reduction on a scale.
our pots at the farm are fired with propane,
those here in minnetonka are fired with natural
gas.
it is all the same.
red, shino, carbon trap, celedon.
how the kiln is fired, the timing makes
the difference. not so much the fuel.
if one wants a bit of smokey reduction
in a natural gas kiln...throw in wood
scrap.
i do, all the time.
but, it sure is not necesarry. just damper
down, add more fuel, cut the primary air.
black reduction.
never need that much. icky pots.
