I was wondering if anyone knew of a technique I could use to recycle
the gold on used CPU's contacts and deposit some of it on a raku
piece?
I was thinking that some kind of fuming or something that would not
require me to melt down the cpu, just put it in the Raku Kiln on top
of a piece, or inside a saggar? I don't even know if this is
possible.
Could someone help?

Dear Steven D. Lee
I think you are mistaken to believe you can do this without converting =
the gold into some form of compound which will be highly volatile at the =
temperatures the pots will be when they are fumed. Gold melts above 1060 =
deg Celsius and boils at over 2800 deg Celsius so fuming with metal =
vapour seems an improbable task.
If you are considering emulating the Kosai technique of Biz Littell then =
you may have to pay your dues and attend his workshop.
If you want to do something your point of departure would be first to =
dissolve all other metals in one of the strong mineral acids then use =
Aqua Regia to bring the Gold into solution as Gold Chloride. This =
decomposes at a very low temperature so you could spray a solution onto =
your cooling raku.
