Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me where to find a ceramics materials & equipment supplier
in New York City?
I have been surfing the web like forever but could not find one. In
two weeks I will be leaving for New York City and was hoping to check
out one or two ceramics suppliers
Thanks for your help.
Have a nice weekend!

Gerlach.

Ceramic supply of NY & NJ - 1-800-7CERAMICS. They are one of the biggest on
the east coast. they are located in Lodi, NJ.

There are no ceramic suppliers in NYC proper.

Gerlach-
I have been using Ceramic Supply of New York and New Jersey. They are
not in NYC but service the area. (I also am not in the city but near it)
They will deliver to you for free with a minimum order. They are at
www.7ceramic.com. They have done pretty well by me, but I am ordering
large amounts for a school situation.
Dana

The best (in my opinion) ceramic supply is Jack D Wolfe in B'Klyn
the number is 718-495-2065
jack D Wolfe ceramic supply has be around over 50yrs and Mitch & Sharon
Kaufman have been running it for about 20yrs.
Mitch knows everything about pottery.
There is also http://www.mudpitnyc.com/
also in B"Klyn I haven't done business with them, but have emailed them and
they are very nice.

good luck,
nancy ncy@nyc.rr.com

Someone closer to Manhattan will have to tell you. But as far as I know
there is no major supplier IN NYC. proper anymore.

Jack D Wolfe CO are/were in Brooklyn at 82 Harrison Place, Brooklyn NY
11237, (718) 417-1711.

Ceramic Supply of New York and New Jersey are #7 Route 46 West, Lodi, NJ
07644 (201) 340-3005. Lodi is very close to NYC but not IN NYC.

Bailey Ceramic Supply are in Kingston NY, and you can get directions from
(800-431-6067) They are just a skip and a (small) jump from the Thruway
exit.

I live and work in NYC - here's a few things to keep in mind:

Ceramic Supply will deliver to NYC with a $175 minimum - but they are
not cheap. Sometimes you still save money using places that ship from
other parts of the country, especially on large equipment. But keep in
mind that you can accrue extra fees, such as liftgate fees, if you don't
have a loading dock. And make sure to request that they bring the items
to your studio door and not just to the front of the building.

Good luck on your move.
