Hi,
I think a clarification is in order here. I read that there was an
earthquake in Wash. State. True or false???? I have friends in Seattle,
should I start e-mailing or what? Mike Gordon

Gail,
I am glad you surfaced so quickly,
so we know you are okay...
Lawrence, are you there? are you okay?
The surprising thing about earthquakes that
was a surprise to me is the sound...kinda
like sonic booms, at least for the quakes
I have lived through.
I remember a comment someone made about the
San Francisco quake, that they tried to
jump under their bed for safety, and realized
later they slept on a futon...
Also, I remember a meeting, and a group
of dorm students were discussing the event,
and one student asked if there were some way
to have an alarm system as a warning.
The group, in mass...stared with jaws dropped and
in unison clamored that "gee, I think you will
know when it happens."
Humbling to go through...
take care, and enjoy the surprise of the
aftershocks, kinda an "E" ticket ride...

I understand what has happened. The writer looked in the file where he /she keeps the
old letter - some he intended to answer forgot the time and answered. It happened to
me too, at leat once!
