Hi! After chasing down a small amt of Stannous Chloride (much easier to f=
ind
50 lb lots) I attired myself in safety gear & sprayed a couple of white
terra sig coated pots after applying horsehair when I pulled them out of =
the
kiln at about 1650=BAF. They appeared to become quite shiny though I didn=
't
see any pearly irridescence.........bummer. Anyway, when I wiped off the
residual ash from the horsehair once they had cooled, one of them develop=
ed
small ugly white spots on part of where I rubbed. I'm assuming I rubbed o=
ff
the shine, and this was underneath......tin white spots. So...........
I'm wondering if it would be safe to put it back in the bisque kiln ? Wou=
ld
it burn out? or fume away?
Since my cone sitter just broke I'm firing by prometer & visible cone pac=
ks.
Would I need to "suit up" to check the cones?
BTW, I used about a tablespoon stannous chloride in about 6 oz water to m=
ake
the spray. Would I have gotten the irridecense with a more concentrated
solution? I have checked the archives for this info without finding an
answer.
Thanks for any info!
