II love my 2 old clunker shimpos too. One is from the early 70's the newer
is from the late 70's. I recently purchased my 'newer' one from Peters Valley
when they had an old inventory sale. I just got some head pins put on it and
now I use it all the time. Kinda feel guilty about putting my 'antique' one
aside for a "newer model" cause it served me well for 26 years. I figured Id
give it a well deserved rest. They sound clunky but are sooooo smooth to
throw on. Its a percision piece of machinery that is well built and you can
feel it.
Have you tried machine shops? Ive always been able to get any type of
repairs from any local machine shops. Ive always managed to come upon ones
that have worked on potters wheels before. Not that theyve needed work on
them very often.

I bought my shimpo in 1974. I tried for about a year to get the motor
worked on. I finally gave up and bought a new Pacifica GT400 and I really
like it. I still want to keep the old shimpo because I can use it.
Thanks
