another clayart online gallery?

Now that the mug exchange gallery has slowed down, I've been
thinking .... Doing the mug exchange gallery has been so much
fun because we get to see the variety of kinds of work made by
Clayart folk. But it's limited to pieces that are small enough to be
included in the mug exchange, so isn't really typical of what many
people make.

Would anyone be interested in posting images of current work of
other kinds? I was thinking it might be fun for people to send an
image of whatever they are doing that is particularly enjoyable,
exciting, new, challenging, or whatever positive adjective you care
to apply. Maybe a new form, a new glaze, a new firing technique,
whatever.

If there is interest, I will create the pages and post the link to
Clayart as new work gets added. No jurying, no judgment, no
restrictions about techniques used, just sharing the work we love.

Suggested instructions would be:

1) Send a .jpg photo of your piece to me (candle@intrex.net)

2) Don't shrink, compress or otherwise "optimize" the image for the
web, because I want to be able to show large-size images. Don't
worry about the file size as long as it's less than 1 meg.

3) Include your name, a title if the piece has one, approximate
dimensions, and any other information you would like to share
about the piece, forming or firing processes, etc.

4) Tell me whether or not I should insert an email link, so people
viewing your piece can send you comments, purchase requests,
etc. If you want me to link to your own website, provide that URL.

I welcome any comments, suggestions, whatever. Or just send
pictures.

Chris

Hi Chris,

What a great idea and how kind of you to offer to take on this extra work=
.
It would be a great way to share more techniques and, possibly, get advic=
e
on some particular project. Apart from clay work, perhaps home made tools=

or equipment could be another feature, as it is sometimes hard to visuali=
ze
what people are describing. =

Thanks for your suggestion and I hope it comes to pass. It is wonderful t=
he
way Clayart just keeps growing. It is so important, as adding new feature=
s
will enliven clay discussions and keep our membership from drifting away.=

Hope all is well.

All the best.

And to you and all my fellow clayarters, now that summer actually seems t=
o
be settling in, have a wonderful one.

Veena

I think this would be a great idea. It would give artist's that do not have
the exposure to get their work out there and some feedback on it. I would
love to participate in this and have my email link for comments. Great
idea!!!!!!!

Chris

You are really going that one step more to make Clayart an even more personal
experience. Thank you for caring enough to handle the mug exchange and now to
bring us all closer to each other. It's people like you who make the world a
smaller, friendlier place.
