pots on today show?

updated thu 24 apr 03

My mom wants me to ask my potter friends if anyone knows who made the
pottery "that sits behind Katie Couric on the Today show". I've never
seen it but I told her I would ask.. Thanks. And thanks to those who
advise me through art fair and bread bowl dilemmas... Kelly in Ohio

Kelly,

Oddly enough, Al Roker, the weather man from the Today show, is downstairs
right now, filming Miriam's Kitchen for his food network show. I'll ask him
if I get a chance how to find out about the pottery...

Isn't this odd???

His site and 'slant' on ceramics is a very much more polished (or would
he say "groovy'?) take on pottery than I'm use to seeing!

Interesting approach and forms... seems very styled and designed.

thanks for the heads up

He's actually not a potter anymore - hasn't been for a long time. His
work is mass produced in Mexico. He is now a designer, designing
lines of housewares (including pillows). =20
