In this intensive throwing workshop, Tracy will cover a broad spectrum of =
skills for producing pottery. He will specifically help individuals =
identify and remedy their own problem areas as well as demonstrate =
important 'tricks' of working that will enable students to create more =
effectively and efficiently. During the workshop Tracy will discuss form, =
visual awareness, and how "to look and really see" while also giving the =
time for individual critiques and instruction in solving problems. A =
minimum of an intermediate level of throwing is required.=20

kiln? In this lecture Tracy will share his knowledge and give you an =
overall view on the varied aspects of planning and installing a gas kiln. =
He will discuss how to get started, where to get materials and building =
instruction, kiln design, approaching building codes and inspectors, =
burners and more. =20

Tracy Dotson runs his own production pottery studio in Penland, North =
Carolina where he resides. From small raku kilns to large 200 cubic foot =
industrial car kilns, he has designed, constructed and/or rebuilt over 200 =
kilns throughout his 38 year career. He has given numerous workshops on =
throwing and kiln building throughout the US and is represented in several =
galleries in North Carolina.=20
