After having read several books on Kiln construction I thought that I
would start simple and move my way upward. My first construction
will be a RAKU/Bisque kiln that is designed around fine mesh expanded
metal (a little more rigid than hardware cloth) and hopefully ceramic
fiber riser sleeves.
This is my problem, I would like to find a supplier that is nearer
home as LTF trucking can be expensive. While there are a few
suppliers that can get me 12" x 24" I.D. x 28" O.D. sleeves for less
than $100 with the shipping that price goes up about 40%.
If I could find a supplier that is willing to entertain a small order
for similar riser sleeves that is in Texas I would just drive to
wherever it is and pick them up.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
