Last summer a fellow clay arter out of AZ and one of my best friends
(aint clay art great ) went on a east coast quest to visit potters and visit
with them... I went to Highwater Clay and looked for those trail book
things and came apon a book that was called NC potters or something like that
and it listed state wide most of the potterys ... I was not in that book
and dont know why but it had tons and tons of potterys and potters
listed... there is also a book out that Hand Made in America is
responsible for and the new edition is making its debute this week I think...
I believe its the 3rd or 4th revised edition... Craft Trails in western
nc or something like that.. Call high water or hand made in america both
located in Asheville NC (828) area code if your interested in getting
this book... they both have all the imfo you could ever need about the
potter and how to get there and times you can come and maybe even pictures..
Speaking of pictures , I was informed that some of my work was chosen
by the designer to grace the front of that new trail book... so the
importance of getting good slides and sending them in to publications or
your guilds or your show promoters is VIP I hear only 20% of the
artists send in this type of promo material so the chances of you getting
some great PR is pretty good if your part of that 20% that does.

for artists and wanting to share it all with everyone . I do get soo
passionate over things and also wanting to shout to the roof tops that I am
now a business with credit card capability woo hoooo spinnin on my head...
got that from the boot camp and will share imfo with everyone who wants a
merchant account for the best deals out there and the newest upcoming
equipment ie digital...
PPS I vote for reversing switch on a wheel as this is something that I
do not have and so despirately want.. I have 2 wheels both brents a cxc I
got used and a B I got as a beginner potter, neither reverses and I am on
the look out for a good reversing wheel as I really need one for what I do in
the trimming stage..
PPPPPPPPPS sorry so long winded but do come to Sanford NC this
friday nite preview ( 6-9pm ) and saturday thru sunday I think its 9-6 and
10-5 hrs.. I am in the civic center building up against a wall... the
wall opposite the front of the building or what I would concider the front of
the building.. you'll find me as I stand out in a crowd... Steven
forbes desoule , sara rolland , terry gess, Judy brater rose and some
other southern highland members will be there . 194 booths I believe and
only a handful of non pottery art.
