Hi Lily,
I would think a 'Drum Switch', or something as provide the
same function, if correctly wired, would allow
you to have the two directions of rotation, and even a
'neutral'
in the mid-position of the switch.
One may buy a Drum Switch, one may make one, or, or one may
adapt switches ( as say some common 'Light Switches' costing
as say a dollar each or so) originally intended to do
something else, to
become a Motor-Reverseing-Switch in function.
In effect, a Drum Switch, (named for it's shape) or it's
equelivent in function, is a device as allows one to elect
one wireing-configuration or the other, as govern the
Motor's direction of rotation.
Commercial Drum Switches likely cost some twenty or thirty
dollars by now, maybe more, and would be available anywhere
as offer earnest Electrical components for Machine Shops,
Agriculture, or other practical, Industrial or considered
situations. Concerns as sell or repair Electric Motors would
also likely have them, and Motor repair Businesses, or
concerns as repair Machinery may have used ones at a
bargain.
I doubt the ubiquitous 'homeclubs' et all would have any
reason to carry them, but you never know.
Good luck!
