A few days ago I invited people to submit photos to Paragon's on-line
Gallery. We have two new submissions: a beautiful mug by Steven D. Lee,
and a glass cross by Diana Chase.
There have been discussions about glass on Clayart from time to time, so
you may be curious about the cross. It is 9' tall and weighs 800 pounds.
It was cast in blocks in a TnF-82-3 (8-sided top-loading kiln) in
sections. Each glass block has a hollow center so that a steel pipe can
run through the glass sections to hold the cross together. Diana spent
about three months making the cross. Each glass section required three
days of cooling time. She used Bullseye stained glass.
