I think it will actually fire up to cone 8.

just wanted to add alittle to what mishy stated.. yes lizella can be fired
up to cone 8. they state that it can be fired to cone 6 but i have fired up
to cone 8 with no problems.the higher the temp the darker the color. i have
also been told... dont know if its true or not but that it does have a
problem holding liquid after a time. i dont do funtional so its not a
problem for me. its wonderful for handbuilding which i do almost
exculsively.
