Hand's on Ceramic Workshop

Silvie Granatelli has been successful nationally with her work, making elegant
and very personal functional porcelain pottery. Silvie's aim is to
create mood and atmosphere in her tableware. In this workshop she will
demonstrate both throwing and altering porcelain forms and how to treat the
surface of the tableware. This workshop will be both demonstration and
hands-on. Participants will get to decorate porcelain greenware plates or
tiles.
Silvie Granatelli is a functional ware potter and educator now living in
Floyd, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas State Art
Institute and a Master of Fine Arts from
Montana State University. Recipient of a Virginia Museum Fellowship, she
teaches part-time at
Virginia Tech as well as many workshops around the country. Her work can be
seen in numerous ceramic books and publications.
