Hi all,
I had a good experiment going on, but got bit by the piece drying too =
fast and the bottom cracked. (usually not a problem here in Galveston.)
The Bowl/vase was thrown, I then offset bat and shaped bottom off =
center. re-centered the bat and trued the upper part, then off centered =
again in the opposite direction to shape the upper portion. Then back =
to center to form the rim. I really liked how it turned out, but is now =
ready for the recycle bag. If you want to see the green form, it's =

I will be trying this technique again, probably today as I am firing =
other pieces to bisque.
On another subject, I want to extend a virtual handshake and thank Mr. =
Giffen for his genius in thinking up and making the 'Giffen Grip'. An =
excellent tool! (how did I ever get along without it?)
