Joe,
Get rid the ocher if it is in your buff body as it will most likely cause
bloats--but MAYBE not if you add feldspar inclusions. You can get feldspar
from the pacer corporation (Thanks Dale Neese!) and your local feed store
(cullet). Add some feldspar, grog, local sand, iron, 10 - 15% powdered
feldspar, and you got a shigaraki like body. Experiment with various sized
particles. You will find what you like.
Thank you.

Have any of you explored coming up with a heavily feldspar aggregate laiden
stoneware body that can be concocted here in the US??
I've never came across such a "stony" mineral infested clay body as this very
cool Japanese clay body.
Any of you guys do anything like this from US materials??? Or know a close
source for this?
I can start with my own buff stoneware and add feldspar so it fluxes bisque
or cone 10 high fire gas kiln reduction.
