For those of you in or visiting the Denver, CO area, here are two workshops
coming up this summer at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.
Jim Connell - Carved Forms
June 21 & 22
Cost: $130
In this two-day workshop Jim will demonstrate his techniques in throwing,
trimming, paddling, carving and assembling various forms such as teapots,
lidded jars, bottles, vases, mugs and bowls. Jim teaches ceramics at
Winthrop University in South Carolina and his work has been in four of the
last five NCECA shows.
David Wright - Thrown, Handbuilt and Touched
July 12 & 13
Cost: $130
In this two-day hands-on workshop, David will demonstrate a variety of
handbuilt and wheelthrown techniques he uses in the creation of his
inventive functional pottery which includes stretching, cutting, folding,
reassembling and the use of press molds. David's work has been included in
many national and international exhibitions.
