Can any one advise on the problem I encountered with grolleg c6 porcelain plates and platters. I am using various slips (base being porcelain)on leather hard for feathering and patterning on the bottoms of plates and platters. Two made it fine, but the platter and a smaller pulled away in a neat circle from the rim! This happened in an adv. ceram. class and the proffessor said it dried to quickly, as we put on a warm kiln to dry in the mass firings before finals.
Hence I covered and aired slowly......Pleeze can some one tell me: Is it the drying rate/absorption/fit?
Can I remedy with the dryclay alcohol fix b4 bisquit? I'm anxious to get this going as I have a festival this weekend and I really want all these plates to go!!!
Thanks and wow is this list coooooool, I'm mesmerized by all the info. If John in AL reads this. Thanks for your redirection to a newbie.
