Hi Jeanie,
You sure nailed it on the head when you said their was no such thing as
cheap gold. A fellow ceramic artist found it for 6.50 for a 1/2 oz. bottle
but you had to buy a box of twelve. She has since moved and I don't know
where she found it. Hope someone out there might have an idea. Thanks for
responding.

Hi all,
There is a supplier who is very reasonable on everything including liquid
precious metals. Lou Davis wholesale. Their phone number is 800 748 7991.
They have ''n'' gold for $7.99. They also have platinum, copper and bronze.
You also pay less if you buy larger quantities. Good luck

Liquid gold comes in different percentages of gold. Check the % when you
are comparing prices. Jeanie

Guess I gotta get some! But what is it really? So far, searches on the
internet have netted:

Poppers ("Room aromatisizers", yeah right!)
Easy listening music (ZZZZZZZZZZ)
An eMoney transfer service (Maybe for some)
Bathroom porn for straight men (Nope!)
An essential oil (Hmmmmmmm)
A brand of Olive oil (Yummmmm)
A Furniture Polish (reminds me of Dan Akroyde and Jane Curtain)

I assume it's none of the above. ;-)

Dear Russel Fouts

You ask <>

Gold Resinate. Basic chemistry... it is a Salt derived from dissolving =
Gold in Aqua Regia. This salt is soluble in Pine Resin and diluted with =
an organic solvent.

You can make your own lustres by dissolving salts in hot pine resin and =
diluting them with Spirits of Turpentine. Do not use Nitrate salts. You =
may experience a violent conflagration. I got a Golden Orange lustre =
from Ferric Chloride.

I saw that as I was checking out some of the sites that were recommended on

Logic would seem to say that an 11% gold solution would take twice as much
as a 22% solution. But I'm not absolutely sure that this is true, as I have
not experimented with different types -- yet.

Try anything. Experiment. Play around with it.

Can you supply liquid gold for enamelling?
I would like a gloss and a matt finish if possible.
I understand the firing temperature could be between 200 and 750 degrees =
centrigrade.
Perhaps you could let me have contact details of an outlet in UK. I am =
in the South West.
Thanks
