Dude,
Interesting concept. I think I need to see it.
I didn't realize you were in Minneapolis! We will have to get together.
Actually, I am having an anagama firing--Loading June 1. You and any other
clay arters are welcome to join under the starry wisconsin night. I've got
some molding ideas for sculpture I would like to share with you.
I believe Ernest Miller and some of his students are coming out and maybe
others. Email me for directions to Osceola.
As a kind of rule of thumb, I don't let plaster in the studio--but I am
waiting to be proved wrong with 0% eventually making its way into your clay.
Thank you.

Hey Tony,
Appreciate the nod to mold-makers!
Regarding a raised surface on the bottom of a thrown piece: I had an idea a
few years back but never pursued it...how do you think plaster bats with
signature impressions would sell to folks like yourself? Not sure if this dude with
the $275 cup did it this way but I know that it is a possibility.
Basically you would send me your signature, I would then turn that into a
plaster bat with a raised area (in which lies your signature i.e. creating a foot
on the thrown piece) upon which you could then throw a pot. The resulting pot
would have a pre-formed inner foot in its bottom. You would then trim the
outer profile of the foot and your signature would be a raised surface in the
middle.
Just a thought?
