Do you FIRE your pots ?!?
How often is a workshop with so many experienced, talented, educated
speakers offered ?!? Not only will there be much knowledge shared, but the
FUN level will be out the roof !
Those of us who don't have structured classes available near our home
towns, have learned all we know from workshops, Clayart, books, mistakes and
mentors. Just look at this line up of presentors.......
Steven Branfman, Bob Anderson, Dannon Rhudy, Kerry Brooks, Diana Pancioli,
Nils Lou, Karen Terpstra, Kurt Wild, Tim Frederich, Mel Jacobson, Jonathan
Kaplan, and Don Hosskinson ! The workshop is limited to 200, so we will be
able to hang out with these people and pick their brains....show them kiln
plans.....ask about firing problems....learn how to organize our studios,
decorate pots, use ITC, and care for our kilns. I'm planning on learning so
much, and firing Karen's kiln with wood and .....maybe....I'll even try raku
: )
Yes, I'm talking about the Potters Council Workshop about Firing
Practices in La Crosse, Wisconsin from June 12-15. There are still some
spaces left to fill.....hope it will be some of yall !
Soon,

Karen Terpstra, Workshop Organizer has this to say:
"The workshop is intended to be an interactive learning experience, covering
a broad range of topics-ranging from firing to decorating to kiln
maintenance. We believe the program will provide for a learning experience
for potters of all skill levels. We have worked hard to keep the costs of
attending reasonable by providing low-cost housing options and a
registration fee inclusive of most meals. We hope to see 200 potters gather
on the UW-La Crosse campus in mid-June and that this inaugural regional
meeting will be a model for future Potters Council conferences."

Space is limited to the first 200 attendees. Sign up now and don't be left
out.

See you in La Crosse.

It is unfortunate that the same weekend is the Cambridge Pottery Festival in
Cambridge, Wisconsin. Maybe next year the dates could not fall on the same
weekend? Bill Gossman, Jasper Bond, Tom Hubble, Tony Winchester, Bob &
Cheryl Husby, a total of 50 potters will be at Cambridge including myself.
I am sure many of us would have enjoyed what appears to be a hell of a
party....education! Maybe I can present next year?

Thank you.
