Hi Paul, et al...
Thanks for the excerpt from the interview.
What fun!
I think...
If I were in my sleek little row Boat, far, far, far at
Sea...cleveing the softe wave's nodding dazzles...
Whether the waters were cold, or rippled (or, for present
purposes, one may only
hope) with the odd sweep of a fine dorsal fin or other...
And Koie were a tired sodden swimmer, survivor of some
marine wreck
or Airline misahap, who I'd hauled in, out
of humane courtesy, and...
...him perhaps implicitly 'expecting' I
should or would do so too...being as no other Boats are in
sight, nor will be...when it turns out
that expectations are something it is his 'job' to
betray...
I think, realizeing my mistake, I would be forced to help
him do his 'job' on himself for a change...and...
...as P.T.Barnum hath say'd...
"This way to the Egress!"
So...with one firm hand on his collar, and one on the back
of his
pants, I'd pretty well have to just give him the big old
fashioned 'heave-ho'!
Understanding the feined resistance, the calculated
drama of mock protest as he may emote, as only a natural
part of the theatrics he knows so well how to do...and...
...ker-plunk-shhhh...!
Sigh-oh-nahra there bub...!
And I wouldn't even charge
'two-hundred-seventy-five-american-dollars-plus-shipping-and
-handleing-visa-or-mastercard-okay!", either...for the
gesture, for the
favour, for helping him maintain his integrity, or for my
'work' to so entertain and edify and preserve him in that
way which he so admires, nor for
my 'artistic' gesture, and the finesse and know-how and
inspiration it takes to do it...or in keeping with how it is
validated by my larger body-of-work...and must be thence
approved and admired by art critics everywhere (and, at
length if necessary, to convince or bully the skeptics)...a
'performance' piece of such droll insight...
By god, I'd do it for 'free'...
Afterall, I am an Amateur anyway, who may or may not,
recieve
remunerations for services rendered...as it please me to do.
And there are many things as are worth doing...just for
themselves.

Greetings Phil and All,
What fun, Indeed!
Phil, when I see you coming in your steam boat (paddle wheel at the
stern, huge boiler roaring as it gobbles used donut oil, which smokes
but smells good) I will state (loudly), "Wait, Phil, don't leave me
here, dog paddling in the sea, I can make mugs in all primary colors,
yellow, red and blue! My mugs are not lumpy and weird, and they feel
good in the hand! I can even make all three primary colors on one mug!"
I might even make a Ducky Blue one, (think Boron, Rutile and Cobalt, and
oh what the Hell, some Copper too) if it would save me. Shoot, Phil,
can't we at least throw him a lifesaver and tow him along behind? LOL
From Doyle, where the Mormon Crickets are on a rampage only a mile away,
teeming in millions, their bodies stain the roads red.
Best wishes,
Paul Herman
